My Favorite Summer Bouquets - Elizabeth Langford

hello, friend

I'm glad you're here.

My Favorite Summer Bouquets

Depending on where you live in the country the weather is most likely starting to turn a little cooler. Perhaps the leaves on the trees are changing and starting to fall to the ground. The pumpkin spice latte has returned to the Starbucks menu and autumn has arrived.

In Arizona, it’s still hot. Last Saturday the temperature reached 103 and swimming was just another late September Saturday activity to try and cool down. So while the rest (or at least the majority) of the country had pulled out their fabulous knee high boots and made plans to visit an orchard and pick apples or a pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin, I was wearing shorts and flip flops to go have lunch inside at the mall with a friend… because it’s still too hot to dine al fresco in Phoenix. But everywhere else, the shorts, the tanks, the swimsuits have been packed away. And along with them the bright colors of spring and summer. All tucked away to make room for the browns, greens, maroons, deep purples and creams that come with my favorite season of all, fall.

For as long as I can remember the fall has been my favorite time of year. The weather begins to cool down. The leaves begin to change. The mornings are crisp, the afternoons warm. The days become shorter and the earth begins it’s cycle towards a slow down and a sleep that will take us through the winter before spring comes exploding back with fresh life. And that fresh life got me thinking about the gorgeous flowers my brides had chosen this past summer. The bright colors. The joyful bouquets of fragrant flowers that become one of the defining details of their day.

So I thought I would share a handful of my favorite bridal bouquets from this summer. One last hurrah for the brightness and shine of summer.
